Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure continued

I started working on my Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure again.  I interpreted this section ias celebrating YOU, Today.  It's important to document you.  I often wish I had more photos of my mother, because like most moms, she was always behind the camera.  I used to be very shy about having my photo taken, but with the kids gone and a gazillion pictures of my dogs, sometimes, my only subject is me and my phone.

There are also a few Heidi Swapp elements on the page, i.e. the butterfly which I misted with Primrose ColorShine.   The Fabric Frame is by Maggie Holmes.

The items stapled to the frame are digital elements from the Maggie Holmes line.  I simply downloaded them then used the print and cut feature of the Silhouette.
Again, this page consists mainly of Maggie Holmes digital elements cut with the Silhouette.
This is the flip side of the clear sheet.  I love how the photo from the previous page shows through.

One last close up of the details from this page.  I've still got more pages to finish in this section, but this is a good start.

Digital Card using Maggie Holmes digital kit.

I was so excited to see that Maggie Holmes now offers her line in digital!  I made this card entirely from her digital elements and papers which I imported to the Silhouette.  I am in love with this entire line!  I added just a little stitching around the black/white chevron paper and across the tag.  The "hello" is a stamp by Papertray Ink.

Humming Bird Layout using Heidi Swapp Stencils

First of all, this layout is WAY out of my comfort zone.  There is nothing about this layout that looks like "my style".  I wanted to play with the Heidi Swapp stencils and I wanted to use Kraft background.  My first version, I used white acrylic paint with the stencil to create the background, but the stark contrast make my pictures get lost in the layout.    So, I flipped the paper over and tried again.  I thought about using clear embossing powder, but I had a lot I wanted to cover.  I opted for Mod Podge in Matte finish.  I simply laid the stencil on top of my kraft paper and used mod podge and a sponge brush to randomly fill in the stencil.  After I removed the stencil I quickly dried it with my heat gun, then carefully laid the stencil back down and misted just parts of it with Gold Lame' color shine.

The green tag I used for journaling is actually the packaging of of some pretty fabric flowers.  I cut the humming bird with the Silhouette.

Like I said, totally out of my comfort zone, but sometimes, you need to experiment and try new things.  It's not my favorite layout, but I don't hate it either! :)

Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure - Inspiration - Doug

And, of course,  I have to add Doug to my inspiration page.  He inspires me in so many ways.  He is one of the most patient people I have ever met in my life, seldom asks for anything and constantly tells me to slow down and enjoy the moment.

I loved the touch of the three hearts colored with Colorshine (black), Dylusions (red) and the small one I left uncolored.

Memory File Adventure - Inspiration - Heidi Swapp

Memory File Adventure with Heidi Swapp contines, and how could I possible do an inspiration section and not include her?  Any of you who follow me, know that she inspires me in most of my crafty life.  If I am not using a Heidi Swapp project, then I am certainly using at least a part of one of her creative ideas.

On this page I used a mod podge of products.  A little Heidi Swapp Serendipity, some Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic,  and a few odds and ends from my color drawers.

Here is a closer look at Heidi's page.

You can purchase the entire Heidi Swapp line at Scrapping Clearly

Memory File Adventure continues..... INSPIRATION section

This is another part of my Memory File Adventure.  This section is based on who/what inspires me.  I am struggling with this part.  My mother definitely inspired me.  She was a very strong, loving, independent, supportive mother.  She passed away several years ago.  She still inspires me everyday, even though she's no longer with me.  She definitely deserves a page in this section.  The part I am struggling with is where to go from here.  I could do what/who inspires me creatively? What/who inspires me to be a better person? What/who inspires me in so many ways.
I wanted to use this quote because it is so reflective of my mother.  She never, ever gave up in life and even with her illness.  She was always positive, upbeat and went wherever life took her without a complaint, without a tear and with great pride.

You will rarely see me use Prima flowers on my layouts.  I am not sure why, I like them when I see then on other people's layouts, but when I put them on mine, I just feel like they don't belong?  Do you have an item in your stash that you just can't seem to reflect your style with?  I gave it a shot here, but I am still not comfortable with them.

A sweet puppy layout featuring Pink Paislee, Heidi Swapp and a bit of this and that

I am happy to announce that I am now part of  the design team for Scrapping Clearly.    I am so excited to start creating with the amazing box of goodies Kylie (the owner of Scrapping Clearly) sent me.   This was a very simple layout using products available from Kylie's shop.  The base of the layout is by Pink Paislee, the flowers are Kaiser Craft and I used a few digital cuts by Heidi Swapp, as well as punches for the butterflies.
I just Love, Love, Love sewing on my projects and find that I sew on almost everything I do.

There is a touch of silver thread wrapped around the layout for a little extra added interest.  The strip of stamps is also by Pink Paislee.

Happy Anniversary Card using Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic

Hello there!
I know everyone is in the "Father's Day" card mode, but Father's Day is also Doug's mom and dad's anniversary!   We are going to dinner tonight to celebrate with them.  I made this quick card using Heidi Swapp's Sugar Chic paper pad and Color Magic Hearts.  I really do have tons and tons of papers, but I find myself reaching for Heidi's stuff more often than not.  It's such a fun, vibrant, "goes with anything" paper.

Heidi Swapp Memory File Adventure Continues

I am still working on my Memory File Adventure.  This is the final page in my "I LOVE Photography" section.  I have more photos to show you of the whole section, but for now, I'll share just a few.

This section was originally titled I Love Quotes, but I really wanted a place to put some of the photos I've taken that really don't belong on a specific scapbook page.  I take photos almost every day, either with my phone or my Nikon.  I was able to pack 16 photos in this section and could have easily added more.
for the clear pocket, I simply added a piece of vellum and added a photo to each side.
Thanks for looking.  I am off to the next section "Inspiration".

Just an everyday Card

I made this card using Authentique paper pad, and the Title part of the 12 x 12 Heidi Swapp Happiness paper from the Serendipity collection.  I thought it would be a cute "any occasion" card.
